Hello!!

Well it was nice to hear from everyone this week!! So for starters, my first paragraph is going to be all about football ha ha.. So i have been hearing for the last couple days how crazy it is that BYU beat Oklahoma!! That is pretty crazy i couldn't figure out quite how that would be possible for the Y to beat oklahoma?? but all the members up here FAILED to mention to me that the Heisman trophy winner Sam Bradford got hurt and the best TE in the country was hurt!! But still that is a pretty big win for the Y.. Shows the importance of a quarterback though.. So oklahoma is basically done for the year then right?? I bet BYU shot up the rankings to like #10 or so..It was good to hear that Utah won.. then again it was Ut State.. I think utah will take third in the conference it is hard to lose your starting qb and your 3 best WRs and your 2 best defensive players and expect to win the conference again!! but i think utah will at least beat either TCU or Byu on the road, but they won't win both of them.. 
Anyways everything is going really good on the mission!! I am really liking Training. it helps a lot that the kid i am training is awesome, he is probably the easiest kid ever to train, so i am lucky!! Our teaching pool has shrunk a little because of the baptisms we had last transfer so we are going to be spending a lot of time finding this week trying to get our teaching pool up again!! so i hope that we have some success.. 
Yesterday for p day we played flag football, wow was that fun!! i like that sport a lot!! 
So it sounds like everyone is doing really well!! to answer your guys' questions: yes the summer went by really fast, my old companion who i have become way good friends with Elder Harris, he goes home in 20 days!! its crazy i got with him when he still had 6 1/2 months left!! so time is going!! The fires have stopped and the fires in palos verdes have been out for about 2 weeks now i would say!! Vic it sounds like you are loving biking still, thats good!! the weather has cooled down a lot here but it still feels like california weather, but i do miss that "fall feel" that we get back home in utah, but i can't complain the weather is good here!! Last week when it was really hot i would just think of steven's mission in nicaragua and then i wouldn't feel so bad about the heat here ha ha.. Stevey is in bear lake.. i hope that he had a good time!! Yes mom i received the packages, thank you so much!! Diddi i will for sure show you around here after my mission!! I think you will like it here a lot!!anyways i love all of you guys and am so grateful for all that you do for me!! thanks for the support and prayers!! I will talk to ya next week on monday!! love you guys!!

hello!!!!!!!!!

Well yesterday Amir was baptized that was pretty cool!! i am really excited for him!! it was a pretty good baptism not everything was all hecktic like the last baptism we had like 4 weeks ago.. so i was excited that everything went smoothly!! 
Today was a good day!! we went and played minature golf and i lost on the last hole in a heartbreaker, it was a toughy i am just barely getting over it!! but it was a really good p day!! Tonight after i email we are having dinner with a family that has been bringing two young girls like 14 and 15 who are investigators, we have taught them like 3 times, so today will be the 4th time so we hope all goes well with that!! Last night i got a call from President blackburn cuz he asked me to train for this upcoming transfer, so i will be in Palos verdes at least one more transfer and i will be training, so we will see how that goes :/....
Anyways everything else is going really good!! i laugh everytime that i hear Lola is in dog school, ha ha so how long is she in the hole for?? sounds like both mom and dad are lonely with out her ha!! so how was san diego?? sounds like you guys had a blast!! its weird to think you were in California!! Dad don't worry all of the missionaries out here have cell phones so that is why my comp was in the picture with a cell phone ha!! So did you guys like my pictures that i sent?? because nobody really commented on them.. anyways that is about it for this week, i have a long week ahead of me, wish me luck!! ok i love all you guys and i hope that you have a great week!! talk to ya next week!! buh bye!!

WEEK 22

 Hello!!
 Well i am very excited to hear that you guys got my pictures i sent!! I was thinking maybe you might not get them!! The mail is kind of sketchy if you ask me!! Anyways i thought you guys would all enjoy my hair that looks like i got it cut with an axe!! 

 Well first off that is pretty exciting that Sam Spafford got his call here!! Its a good mission tell him that he will love it!! Just tell him that the MTC is a bit of grind and just to battle through that!! Its such a cool mission here because you can run with the richest of the rich in Hollywood, palos verdes, Bel air, santa monica etc... but then you can be in the most poor places that america offers in Watts, wilmington, hawthorne, Huntington Park etc... So tell him that even tho he isn't going very far from home he is still probably going to the most culturally diverse place probably in the whole country!! President Blackburn is an awesome guy and wants the best for his missionaries!! But he is a straight shooter he expects obedience to exactness, which is good!! So make sure you tell him that and that i am stoked he got called here!! I am not going to have the time to write him a handwritten letter so make sure you tell him that!! 
Anyways the mission is going good i was very excited to see that everyone in the whole family wrote me an email!! including taylin!! Tell finley she is a slacker tho ha ha!! Mom i haven't got your package yet with the cookies so i am guessing that those are probably old now hmm oh well i will still eat them when i get them!! 
As far as missionary work!! Going good but frustrating at the same time!! We are working with this guy and we got him to come to church a couple times and he was all hunky dorry on joining the church and being baptized but what happens dun dun dun yep you guessed it the dude gets a girlfriend who absolutly hates mormons!! so now he is thinking twice about getting baptized, man that was quite the blow when he told us that!! But who knows we will keep working with him and work out his issues!! rather than that everything is going good our ward is really starting to throw us out referrals and we are teaching a lot of people!!
 Anyways We played a little basketball today!! It was good i shot really well!! I have told you this a couple times i think already but i am like a mixture of Dirk nowitzki-Pete maravich-lebron james and maybe even a little bit of deron williams ha ha ha so tell anthony if you see him again that we will completely dominate the rec leagues!! 
 Thank you diddi for writing me!! ITS ABOUT TIME ha JK!! BUT HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DIDDI HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! ha ha what are you 27 now?? dang ya old fart jk i am almost 20 coming up, crazy huh?!?

Talk to ya next week!! oh and tell Shaun mcCardell that i appreciate his emails and support!! oh and vic just make sure that your club doesn't hit the ground on your drive before you hit the ball ha ha but rather than thhat your mid range and short game is TIger woods esck!! Week 17

HEY GUYS-
  Well it was another week in the mission field!! It went very well and i love my new companion from So. Carolina he is really funny and i am learning alot from him!! He speaks pretty good spanish but once again the area of Torrance isn't a spanish speaking area so we don't get a chance to speak to other people very often!! 

Nothing much happened this week it was kind of uneventful week in the mission field!! It was a good week just not very eventful!! Well i am in the singles ward as you know so all the members of the ward tell me that the jazz are getting it handed to them by the lakers!! Timmmer and stever you guys are bad luck at jazz games in the playoffs you were there together when the spurs closed us out like 2 years ago and now you were there this past weekend when the lakers just beat us!! I'll let everyone know in the fam that everytime i go to a jazz playoff game the jazz win!! 

anyways Lindsay i got your package it was an awesome package.  I have the picture frame and i put the picture of Fin in the frame and its chillin on my desk ha ha!! and wow i cant believe how big LoLa has got since i have been gone!! anyways i am in the process of sending home pictures so just hold tight another week or so!! 
We have this investigator we have been teaching named Roderick and he believes in the Book of Mormon and wants to come to church so we'll see how that turns out!! he is a really cool guy!! The problem is is his family hates the mormons so we'll see what happens and we'll play it by ear!
Well i will be calling home and talking to all you nerds here in a little bit, i am pretty stoked about that!! Anyways everything is going good with me i am loving the mission and i am learning something new everyday about myself and about life in general!! I read the Book of Mormon alot in my study time everyday and i have read it all the way through twice since i have been out on the mission and i am on my third time reading it right now and i am in mosiah!! So yeah you can say that i am secretly becoming a Book of Mormon scriptorian!! About the Bible.... i am trying to learn it better and read it more because i am learning that the bible is an effective tool out here in the mission with people but i just can't get myself to read it enough and get into it!! Vic, steven and timmer have any ideas for me about the bible?
Well today after emailing we are going minature golfing!! so that should be fun!! I am pretty stoked!! All right well thats about it this week so thank you for writing me every week everyone i appreciate your support!! i love you guys have a great week and i will talk to ya next week!!

Flashback Friday!!!

{2007-2008 season}

week 15

Well well well.. So for starters how was Easter?? my easter was pretty good, i am having a great time in the mish!! i will just start this letter out by telling you that i just got back from the Beach yep you heard it, THE BEACH.. P day at the beach!! We only get one time a year that we can go to the beach and it was today!! It went pretty well!! I got a tan!! And no worries i will be sending pictures pretty soon so you will probably get those in august or so ha ha jk.. So can someone please send me Walkers address!! i want to write him!! I assume that his address is Kentucky something ha ha.. 

So this week has been very interesting but very fun!! So our district leader he lost his companion a week before transfers cuz his companion got called to be the referral secratary so yep you guessed it the President put him with us so i have been in a 3some all week, which has been good!! Especially cuz one of them is Mexican (my comp) and the district leader is from Chile.. So they speak spanish and i love it cuz i learn more and more.. The lord is blessing me a lot with the language right now, i don't know why he is? but i am learning really quick!! Which is good!! but i don't know how a dumb guy like me could learn spanish and some how i am learning ha ha.. 

Sounds like the Jazz are doing just ok, oh well they'll upset the FAKERS no worries ha!! Anyways so since i have been in a 3some i have actually been spending this whole week in Redondo Beach but on Wednesday i will be back in Torrance and probably with a new companion porque yo creo mi companero se va.. So to answer your question i love the Mission President!! President Blackburn is awesome!! And i think that he likes me a lot!! But i don't want him to like me to much cuz i don't want to get called up to be the Referral secretary next transfer!! So everything is going good we have a small teaching pool right now of about 4 investigators so hopefully that gets going a little better!! Man this mission is incredible tho, so like 3 days ago we went out to dinner with a chinese man who lives is Palos Verdes and i guess he is the Richest Member in the world  so he took us out to dinner and yep it was my first time riding in a Rolls Royce ha ha!! Those cars are a big waste of money by the way!! But he was a very nice guy!! 

So mom sounds like you and dad are loving LOLA, man i am happy to hear that cuz i loved that dog!! I hope stevey man is doing good in las vegas but honestly i don't know why he is there, Las Vegas i think in my own opinion is the most overrated place on earth hands down!! umm lets see what else..  Sounds like the weather is sketchy still in salt lake, if you want i can send you some of my 75 degree weather your way in this email, yeah, good idea? ok well thanks so much for all your support i love you guys so much!! i will talk to ya next monday and i will probably have a new comp and everything so i will probably be writing a lot!! anyways love you guys, talk to ya soon!!

Lindsay: Love you, i know the kids are tough sometimes, but honestly there isn't a bigger blessing you have in your life than Tay and Fin, well maybe i am a bigger blessing ha ha
